“The 40th Anniversary” comes up from time to time during our meetings. Two weeks ago, the Sunset club asked about sharing our Anniversary email list. Was our Anniversary celebration successful? It looks like – Yes!
This year we celebrated the 40th Anniversary of our club – SRI Organon Toastmasters. Our club was chartered on February 1, 1980. By tradition, we celebrate each anniversary in August. This year we met in Zoom on August 18.
The meeting started with officer installations conducted by Mahi Saraf (A4 Area Director). As usual during the celebration we presented our club awards. Phil Cosby won Toastmaster of the Year (2019). Olga Fedorova got Karl Lind Award (2019). Ky-Van Lee was awarded for 1st place in the Evaluation Contest. And Robbie Prohaska was awarded for 1st place in the International Speech Contest. Susan Swope, a charter member, shared her reminiscence of those good old days.
The funniest part of the Anniversary was a roast of an Immediate Past President.
We had a toast as well and Table Topics for our guests.
We had 16 guests, positive emotions, lots of smiles, jokes and positive feedback – “Great job!”, “Well done!”, “Thank you!”.
